Olivia Newton-John Biography:

Olivia Newton-John’s appeal seems to be timeless. With a career spanning more than five decades she is still a vibrant, creative individual adored by fans around the globe.   Born in Cambridge, England in 1948, the youngest child of Professor Brin Newton-John and Irene, daughter of Nobel Prize winning physicist, Max Born.

Olivia personal victory over cancer led her to announce a partnership with Austin Health and the creation of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre (ONJCWC) on the Austin Campus in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. After successful fundraising efforts and helping to raise nearly $200 million, the ONJCWC, opened in June 2012, and provides a comprehensive range of services and facilities for cancer treatment, education, training and research including a wellness center for the mind, body and spirit (ONJCancerCentre.org).  In 2014, Olivia was thrilled when the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Center opened on the grounds of the ONJCWC, enabling clinicians and researchers to work together to integrate clinical medicine with basic and translational cancer research for the ultimate benefit of cancer patients.


With her current and ongoing projects and philanthropic endeavors, Olivia’s worldwide popularity is as strong as ever!  




Since 1976 Amazon John Easterling has been an explorer and treasure hunter in the Amazon rainforest where curanderos taught him plant medicine. His original degree is in environmental studies. His 28 years of rainforest plant medicine experience have been profiled in TV documentaries. Amazon John’s passion for cannabis medicine began in earnest when a serious chronic health challenge he suffered from was reversed in days by using traditional plant medicine from Indigenous tribes in Peru. He founded Amazon Herb Company in 1990 and continues to research and formulate plant medicine. He serves on the board of Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research. Ethan Russo, MD, is a board-certified neurologist, psychopharmacology researcher, and Director of Research and Development for the International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute. From 2003-2014, he was Senior Medical Advisor, medical monitor/study physician to GW Pharmaceuticals for development of Sativex® and Epidiolex®. He was a clinical neurologist in Missoula, Montana for 20 years. He has held faculty appointments in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Montana, and in Medicine at the University of Washington.

DR. DUSTIN SULAK (Medical Keynote)

Dr. Dustin Sulak is an integrative osteopathic physician and leader in the emerging field of cannabinoid medicine. His clinical practice focuses on treating refractory conditions in adults and children. Dr. Sulak is the founder of Integr8 Health, a medical practice in Maine that follows over 8,000 patients using medical cannabis, and Healer.com, a medical cannabis patient education resource, and he sits on the board of directors of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians.

ANAHID JEWETT, PHD, M.P.H. (Medical Keynote)

Professor and Director of tumor immunology lab, UCLA



Dr. Jewett is Professor and Director of tumor immunology laboratory at the UCLA School of Dentistry and Medicine. She has published seminal work in tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy, in particular NK immunotherapy. She holds many key patents, and has given more than 200 invited lectures nationally and internationally and has published greater than 100 research articles and has served on several NIH study section panels. She has trained more than 150 graduate students and health professionals in her laboratory.

Dr. Jacklyn R. Green is the CEO of Agate Biosciences LLC, an innovation consultancy for agriculture. With her PhD from The University of Texas at Austin, she focuses on investment assessments in legal hemp and cannabis. She has a special interest in Quality Management Systems and Environmental Health and Safety. She spent 27 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a scientist and project manager, leading advanced technology development projects and proposal development in the complex government-regulated environment.

Dr. Roger Kern is a scientist who cares deeply about the health of plants in Controlled Environment Agriculture. With his PhD in microbiology from the University of California Davis, Plant Growth Laboratory, he solves the most challenging problems in hydroponics, from studying the root microbiome to developing nutrients and lighting systems to ensure plant health and a disease-free lifecycle. He spent 22 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a scientist and technologist before becoming the President of Agate Biosciences.

Peter Maguire graduated from the University of Southern California in 1990. In 1996 he joined Lighthouse Worldwide and has been focused in the field of contamination control, monitoring and cGMP compliance for the past 23 years. As Vice President of System Applications for Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions, Peter has provided contamination control training to hundreds of companies and thousands of engineers in the pharmaceutical, medical device, electronics and cannabis industries.
